This..."To me that’s so much of what magic is, listening and talking and calling to each other from our souls the way the water does to the wind and trees on up to the stars." YES YES YES.
beautiful as always -- glad we get to share your writing and reflections. This original piece conjured memories of "Diana Artemis," our "snowdog" a Norwegian Elkhound. Winter was her thing - laying in the snow in the backyard on a sunny day...
Oh I love this so much. I laughed out loud at the same part ("Barbara, is that your father?") and caught my breath at the line about the shoes at the end. So poignant. So beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving, Rebecca!
The howling from the bosom ~ With the Whales no less! Aren't we all a bit howl-ee or in need of one right now? Thank you Rebecca for bringing this back, I couldn't love it more!! 💗
Butch is a beauty and what a wonderful story of how the dog adopted your family. I can visualize your dad reaching up for the cats. Such a vivid portrait and soundtrack. Thank YOU.
Love this album so much. Not only because I heard much of this music as a child, but also because I was fortunate enough to know Doc Watson in Deep Gap when he was alive and rollin’, spent all night enjoying fiddle music with Vassar Clements, a morning in Manhattan drinking pink lemonade and gin with Roy Acuff, the first ‘celebrity’ I ever saw as a kid, and just spent Thanksgiving enjoying John McEuen & family company. (Glad to say he’s doing pretty well since hearty attacks.) So, thank you for highlighting that seminal work, and bringing back a flood of good memories.
Beautiful, Rebecca. I feel like I'm sitting in the living room with you and your Dad (and Butch - time warp style). There is no doubt in my mind that there is tremendous power and healing emanating from music. It goes straight to the soul! And yes, I agree, it's located in the heart.

Oh wow! Sounds like a gorgeous animal. Thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad it brought back a good memory. Those snow dogs are amazing.

We're doing pretty well, thank you!

Aaawww! Elizabeth, thank you. Have a great night!
Love can be fickle, but what a gift it is! I am thankful for love.
Me too! And laughing--something you are very good at. Happy Thanksgiving, Holiday.
