I loved this story. I have heard these stories and seen your dad be so elated when he told them. I am so happy that you are lovingly helping him share his adventures.
This is a beautiful story, Rebecca! Now I know you have a Yucatán connection! How great you're working w/ your dad to get his book out. What an adventure he and your grandmother had! BTW I've ridden on Mexico trains. A friend and I'd traded in airline tix for train tix when we were in a small pueblo in Nayarit and wanted to stay longer. All the first class tix were sold and we rode 2nd class along w/ a friend we'd met there. Sitting on the comfortable seats, facing each other, not the wooden ones. Brought back that trip (it was a doozy, 24 hours...) bur unforgettable! Thanks for the memory!

Thanks, Karen. Thank you for reading and listening.
It explains so much about you and your father, not to mention your grandmother. I loved it!
Thanks!
One of my favorite essays; it has cultivated such a fondness for your father in me.
Thank you so much, Jill.
Hoping good health and happiness to him and all his kin.
